Frames

Where are you your frames made?
All Waveborn frames are handcrafted by highly skilled artisans in Milan, Italy.
What are your frames made of?
All our frames are made of cellulose propionate, except the Zumas that are made with Grilamid TR 90.
What is cellulose propionate?

Cellulose propionate is a nylon-based material that creates lightweight plastic frames which are easily molded into any style. This material provides increased comfort because it allows for an even weight distribution across the nose. Also, deliver a multitude of deep and vibrant colors, shapes, and detailing.

Compared with cellulose acetate, cellulose propionate has lower plasticizer migration and is stiffer. It also has better low temperature impact properties, which is vital for winter action sports. Both of these features contribute to the high level of durability and structural integrity in Waveborn frames. Cellulose propionate also has hypoallergenic properties, so our frames are suitable for any customers with gluten, dairy, or nut allergies.

Are Waveborn frames available in different sizes?
Each style is only available in one unique size. However, we offer a variety of different sizes across our collection so you can find the one that better fits you. If you need help please contact us at sales@waveborn.com, it will be our pleasure to walk you through our different styles.
Do you offer any warranty in you frames?
Waveborn sunglasses come with a 1-year guarantee against manufacturer's defects. If you ever have a screw loose, then you can ship them to use to fix for you for free or we can mail you a simple repair kit to add a new screw to the hinge and make them good as new.

Lenses

What are your lenses made of?
All our lenses are made of polycarbonate produced by Carl Zeiss, the international leader in the field of optics.
Which type of lenses do you offer?
We offer UV-protective in all our lenses, but you can upload to polarized and/or prescription. We also offer mirror lenses (takes 4 weeks).
Do you sell lens coatings?
Yes, we offer scratch resistant and anti-reflective coatings.
Can you replace the lenses in my existing Waveborn frames?
Yes, we are happy to help you. Lenses replacements have a cost of:
  • UV color lenses: $20.00
  • Polarized lenses: $40.00 (gray or brown)
  • Prescription lenses: $200.00
  • Mirror lenses $60.00 (takes 4 weeks)

Prescription

What do I need in order to place an order for prescription glasses?
All you need is your doctor’s eyeglasses prescription that is no more than one year old.
How long it will take to receive my pair of prescription sunglasses?
It will take 2 weeks to have your prescription sunglasses ready to be shipped.
Can I get a discount if I buy more than one pair of prescription sunglasses?
Yes, we know sometimes one pair of sunglasses is not enough, so we will give you 50% off of your second pair of prescription sunglasses.
Do your prescription sunglasses have a warranty?
Yes, all our prescription sunglasses have 1 year warranties.

Shipping

Where can Waveborn ship to?
We can ship sunglasses to any country in the world.
  • United States territory: free shipping
  • Canada: $5 flat rate.
  • Any other country in the world: $10 flat rate.
How long will my order take to arrive?
We always try to get orders to our customers as soon as possible but processing time depends on the type of order. You should expect:
  • UV sunglasses: 5 business days
  • Polarized: 10 business days
  • Prescription: 10 business days
  • Mirror lenses: 18 business days
  • Lens coatings: 5 business days
However, there can be unforseen circumstances affecting processing time and these are only estimates. Thank for you understanding!

Returns and Exchanges

What is your guarantee and return policy?
If you’re not 100% satisfied with your sunglasses, we offer a 30-day return policy from the day you receive your order. Free return shipping is also included. We also have a one-year guarantee in all our frames.
I’ve received my sunglasses but would like to return them. How can I do this?

Yes, we will try to make it as easy as possible! Please email us at sales@waveborn.com within 30 days of receiving your order. Please let us know why you are returning the sunglasses.

Once your return or exchange request has been received, we will email you a prepaid return shipping label. Simply print out the label, tape it on the tube and drop it off with USPS.

Unfortunately we cannot provide prepaid return shipping labels to customers outside the US territory. Even so, if you want to exchange your sunglasses, we are happy to cover the shipping fees for the new pair.

I have returned my glasses to you — what happens next?

If you have requested a replacement frame color or style, we will ship your new order immediately and will contact you via email if we require any further information.

If you have returned your glasses to us for a refund, you should expect to see the funds appear on your credit card statement within 5 business days of us receiving your returned sunglasses.

What is your return policy for shipments outside the US territory?

If you wish to return your Waveborn sunglasses, you can absolutely do so within 30 days of receiving your frames. We do not cover the cost of return shipping from locations outside of the US, but if you would like to exchange the glasses, we will ship the replacement pair for free!

Obviously, if your glasses arrive with any existing damage or a prescription error caused by our lab, we will fully reimburse you for the cost of shipping them back to us. We will send you an exchange pair right away (no shipping cost).
